New Course Getting Set for the Midlands |

08-10-2007The University of South Carolina golf coach and one of his former players are planning on designing a new golf course in the Midlands area of South Carolina. This will be the first new course in the area in nearly 10 years.
The new project is going to take place at the Hidden Valley Country Club which is going to get a complete overhaul to say the least. This club is located near Gaston, and is quite popular in the area. But it is safe to say that once the $1. 5 million renovation is complete that this club will gain even more popularity both by in state visitors, as well as out of state enthusiasts.
Although details are not yet ironed out, the final plans are supposed to be completed by the end of March 2007. From there, renovations will begin as soon as developers are ready to get started on the project.
The Hidden Valley Country Club is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the state. The main reason that this course was chose for the renovation was because of the basic layout that is currently in place. With wide fairways and sand based soil there are many options that can be taken advantage of during the renovation process.
This club has been in existence since 1963. Although it has seen many changes are far as management is concerned, things have not been quite the same as far as the course itself is concerned. The only change over the years has been a minor upgrade to the fairways.
The Hidden Valley Country Club offers a public golf course, and is currently the home course of the University of South Carolina golf teams. This course has a lot of design potential, and it is safe to say that once everything is in place that it will be one of the top courses in the state. And this is saying a lot considering that South Carolina is one of the top golfing destinations in the world.
