07-10-2007The Abaco Club on Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas is one of the nicest in the area. Although this upscale golf course
retreat is for members only, visitors can stop by on a “one time basis” to get a feel for what is available. From there, if
you want to return to the Abaco Club you must become a full fledged member.
The Abaco Club is a 500 plus acre resort that is located only 170 miles to the east of Florida. This makes it easily
accessible to the thousands of American golfers who are interested in visiting this course on a regular basis.
The resort opened for business in December 2004 after only two years of construction. It was remarkable that the club was
ready after such a short construction period. A lot of this speed had to do with the fact that money was no object. The latest count has more than $250 million into the Abaco Club. So as you can imagine this is one of the most modern and advanced golf clubs in the world.
The golf course itself is one of the nicest in the world by combining challenging holes with top of the line views. Seven
holes are along the ocean, while another seven line the bay. The bunkers are made of white sand that gives the course a rich look. And of course, with the way that the wind can blow through the area the course can be difficult for even the best
players in the world.
If you want to become a member of the Abaco Club you should act quickly; only 350 people will be allowed to join. To become a member you will have to pay a one time initiation fee of $85,000, as well as a $6,000 annual fee.
With so much to offer it is easy to see why the Abaco Club has become so popular in only a couple of years. As more and more people learn about what this club has to offer, popularity is only going to continue to rise.
