Lecanto, Florida is home to the Black Diamond Ranch. The Black Diamond Ranch is known for its awesome golf courses, breathtaking homes, and delicious food from its restaurant. Black Diamond Ranch is one of the most exclusive golf communities in the state, possibly the whole country. Realtors tell interested buyers that Black Diamond Ranch is the utmost escape from cookie cutter developments and stuffed golf courses.
Originally, Black Diamond Ranch planned for as many as 795 homes on the 1,320 acres of land that it was situated on. The Ranch planned for 750 full golf club memberships, making for a pleasant golf community experience and a lifestyle that people would want to buy into. Unfortunately, the pleasant lifestyle that many bought into may be in jeopardy.
Black Diamond Ranch announced plans to its current residents to add more members to the club in the way of an additional 1,005 homes on 600 acres of land. Residents are apprehensive because they don’t want the lifestyle to be cramped and lose its former luster.
Black Diamond Properties say that the lifestyle will not change, but additional club members will help fund major improvements and keep the club in good standing financially. The plan is still being considered and refined by the residents and Black Diamond Properties.
The new homes would range from $200,000 to more than $1.5 million and would involve town homes, cluster homes, attached villas, estates, and mansions. Property managers believe that new homes and the marketing along with them will help raise property values and help the club keep the pace with other golf communities in the Tampa Bay area.
Property managers are still discussing and refining their plans, and club members are definitely talking amongst one another. Based on membership contracts, the management cannot go ahead with their plans without the approval of the membership.
The membership and management will likely strike a deal and meet in the middle so that lifestyle is not jeopardized but the prestigious golf community can stay afloat.
