Imagine living right next door to a golf course in a Florida private gated community. This is a real possibility with the planned project for Eagle Landing, Florida. The renowned homebuilder, D.O. Allen, has been selected to build homes in a new residential area planned for Oakleaf Plantation. This will be the first time this builder has entered into a building contract outside of Virginia.
According to reports, D.O. Allen has the contract to build seven homes in this active adult community, with the first of these scheduled for completion in the summer of 2006. The developer, East West Partners, has had similar successful projects in the Richmond area, and contracted D.O. Allen for the building of those homes as well.
The building plans for the homes in Eagle Landing include three floors, which suit the style of this residential subdivision. Homebuyers can choose from different sizes of homes, with the smallest being 1,937 square feet and the largest 2,385 square feet. All of the homes have similar features such as 10-foot high ceilings, master suites on the first floor and two car garages. The outside of each home will be fully landscaped providing a large area to enjoy the great Florida sunshine with the Florida staple, covered lanais.
Clyde Johnston, a well-respected name in the world of golf, designed the 18-hole course that is the focal point for an active adult community. Along with the course comes a cabana bar, a store, a pool for the exclusive use of adults and a fitness centre. There are also parks and playgrounds for when the grandchildren come to visit. Enjoy a game of tennis with your friends or workout under the supervision of trained recreation staff.
If you want a glimpse of what the D.O. Allen homes look like, then you can see for yourself if you visit Virginia. There is a 110-unit condominium at the Terraces at Swift Creek and there is a community of single family homes in Martin’s Grant.
The owner of the business, D. O Allen, is a native Virginian. He started this business in 1978 and has enjoyed unparalleled success with all his building endeavours. He welcomes the opportunity to build the homes in Eagle Landing as it gives him a chance to expand his business to other parts of the country.
If you are in the market for a new home in a Florida retirement community, in an area where you are within walking distance of a golf course and fitness centre, it would be worth your while looking into this project at Eagle Landing.
