Located in North Port, Florida, Heron Creek Golf & Country Club made the list of 'Where to Retire' magazine's top 100 golf communities. On an annual basis, 'Where to Retire' magazine ranks golf communities across the U.S. according to location, facilities, social activities and amenities.
With the Arthur Hills 27-hole golf course serving as its centerpiece, Heron Creek's combination of natural beauty and amenities vaulted this pristine golf community to the top of the list.
Currently, Heron Creek has 600 single-family homes out of a planned 820 homes with prices ranging from $400,000 to $1 million. Many of the remaining properties are prime golf homes situated on the Arthur Hill course bordered by several of the community's lakes.
In addition to golf, Heron Creek residents are presented with numerous recreational activities including tennis and swimming. A nature reserve close by provides homeowners with the serenity only a walk in the woods can afford.
The fitness center is a state of the art facility with numerous types of equipment catering to all types of individual work out regimens. In May 2005, Heron Creek completed the main clubhouse. The 21,000 sq. ft. facility boosts three fine dining areas.
