Keswick is hosting a planning inquiry to talk about the prospects of a new golf course coming to town. If everything works out as planned, the details will be ironed out after approval.
The Armathwaite Hall Hotel at Bassenthwaite is interested in building an 18 hole golf course in the area, which would be accompanied by a nine hole mini course that would serve as a junior academy. While this seems like a good idea on the surface, details must be discussed with the town, the owners of the Armathwaite Hall Hotel at Bassenthwaite, and many more.
Just like any new golf course development there are people who both oppose and agree with moving forward. The Keswick Country House Hotel will host the inquiry on March 13 – 16, and again on the 20 – 21. When everything is said and done a verdict to move forward or halt production will be figured out by the end of these meetings.
