The River Islands Plantation is a luxury golf community with waterfront properties in Knoxville, Tennessee. This gorgeous private community is located between a leading golf course and a 450-acre nature preserve overlooking the French Broad River.
The nearby golf course, River Islands Golf Club, is one of the top rated public courses in Tennessee and the Seven Islands Nature Preserve is the largest wildlife refuge in Tennessee. All of this, plus the privacy and seclusion of a vacation hideaway make River Islands Plantation an ideal spot to settle down.
Developer, Greg Layman, chose this area for a reason: location, location, location. Only 15 minutes from downtown Knoxville and 30 minutes from the Sevierville/ Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg area, everything from Dolly Wood, historical sites, and great skiing are available to residents of River Islands Plantation. Some of the amenities that will soon be implemented in this private community include:
* Lots of open, green space
* Parking common to the golf course, the Plantation, and the nature preserve
* A picnic pavilion and grill area with a sand volleyball court and playground
* A scenic walking trail that connects to the Seven Islands Nature Preserve
* Riverfront views
* Backyards bordering on a four acre landscaped green
River Islands Plantation consists of 185 acres, broken up into more than 200 lots. These lots are will be divided into three sales phases and sold to various builders. Phase 1 is still selling, and Phase 2 opens for sale later this year. Each lot is anywhere from 0.6 acre to an acre or more in size. These lots go for $45,000 or more and homes for $300,000 plus.
There are a few requirements for prospective residents of River Islands Plantation. All who purchase a lot are expected to build houses upon it that are at least 2,000 square feet in size with an exterior that is constructed of 85 percent brick. All house plans must be reviewed and approved by an architectural committee.
