An opportunity that is catching the eye of many people is the chance to own a property right next to what is inevitably to become a world famous golf course. This is the vision and mission that Wakefield Development is pursuing in their initial plans of putting up an 18-hole golf course that will be integrated into the Twelve Oaks Golf Community, in Holly Springs. To top it all off, what better way to get the job done than by having it designed by perhaps the most famous golfer of all-time, Mr Jack Nicklaus.
Nicklaus Design has been tasked to provide its expertise in the development of a golf course that will capture the interest of people who want to experience a different way of “leisure living”. Without a doubt, Jack Nicklaus has been known not only for his playing abilities, but for the signature golf course designs that he has done, such as Landfall in Wilmington and the National Golf Club in Pinehurst.
Attaching the legendary name of Jack Nicklaus towards the development of the project can more than help them justify their initial offering towards the public, which is estimated to range from $200,000.00 to over a million dollars per lot. Town homes will also be offered, but the majority of the focus will be on the golf course itself.
Taking up from where the previous developers left it, Wakefield’s entry into the picture has given Twelve Oaks a second lease of life. Originally handled by Forest Hill, the project was left in the cold when the company had to pull out owing to budget constraints. Once completed, Twelve Oaks shall be the third golf community in its list of accomplished projects, with the others being the Wakefield Plantation and Eagle Ridge.
The projected start for the development and construction of the golf course is slated for this October and the golf course is expected to be operational and playable by 2007. By this time, with all the publicity and hype that one can expect to be generated in connection to the world renowned “Golden Bear”, prices will have undoubtedly have appreciated from their current pre-construction rates.
The game of golf, in terms of the public sector’s enthusiasm for it, is still rapidly growing and a project such as Twelve Oaks is an opportunity to make a very smart investment, even if one is not planning to live there oneself.
